Punta Trettu, in the South West of Sardinia island, is a famous for kitesurfing. In fact, with a sandy bottom, flat shallow water and a high percentage of windy days, Punta Trettu is considered a paradise for kitesurfing. People that come once in Punta Trettu, usually come back again and again.
In Punta Trettu, Kitesurf is allowed only at Punta Trettu Kite Beach, in certain zones.
Kite Zones in Punta Trettu
Although in Punta Trettu Kite Beach there are almost no bathers because the shallow water (and somewhere muddy), availability of a small beach only, constant blowing wind, kitesurfing is allowed just in certain zones.
In fact, because the Coast Guard safety rules and the presence of a route boat channel, kitesurfing is allowed in two kite zones:
- kite zone for the kite schools and their courses / lessons,
- kite zone for the indipendent kiters.
In other areas. kitesurfing is not allowed.
People that will kitesurf out of the allowed kite zones could incur into a huge fine from the sea police and Guard Coast.
