Our Zero to Hero Kitesurfing Course takes you from a completely beginner level to be a confident kitesurfer with all the skills needed to continue this fantastic sport.
Zero to Hero Kitesurfing Course features
Aim of the Course
The aim of the Zero to Hero Kitesurfing Course is that after the course you have the knowledge and skills to be able kitesurf anywhere safely with loads of fun!
Level achieved at the end of the course
The kite level achieved on this kite course varies between each student but we usually see fantastic results upon course completion and we can say that at the end of the course all the students can stand on the board!
Duration of the course
The Zero to Hero kite course lasts 15 hours. Each day you can take 3 or 4 or 5 hours of lesson, depending on your needs and weather conditions, until reaching the total of 15 hours. You can run it in consecutive days or break it up, but it should be completed within one week!
Learning during the course
With the Zero to Here kite Course you will learn how to control the kite, tbe body dragging and, after that, you will practice how to glide on the water with the board.
Below, the steps of the Zero to Hero kite course followed by a standard learning student
- Theory (rules and security systems, winds, meteorology, kite flight theory – approx. 30 minutes),
- Setting and unsetting of bar, lines and kite,
- Safety systems,
- Taking off (or launching) and and landing a Kite,
- Control of kite during the flight in the wind window.
From the 4 to the 6 hour
- Control of kite during the flight in the wind window,
- Control of kite during the flight in the wind window with one hand while walking,
- Simulation of the water starts,
- Re-launch of a kite from the water,
- Body dragging.
From the 7 to the 9 hour
- Simulation of the water starts,
- Re-launch of a kite from the water,
- Body dragging,
- Introduction to the board,
- Water starts,
- First gliding on the water.
From the 10 hour
After that, depending on your progress, we will focus on:
- getting you riding better,
- riding upwind,
- self-rescue and the self-pack down
- changing direction while riding
- riding toe side.
At the end of the Kite Course
The kite course will end with a debrief on individual suggestions on how to get better and continue to kite surfing. Each student is given a handout package including kite level certification, stickers and information about suitable kites and boards to buy.
